First and foremost Happy
Memorial Day to all of those who proudly served our Country....GOD BLESS
YOU!!!!!!!!!!
....now on to trivial matters of life, the day after a card show. My
beautiful wife has always encourages me to write more about my personal experiences
before/during/after card shows.
Per her advice, here it
goes....The day after. 1.0
Yesterday was a rather small 1/2
day card show in Katy, Texas (West Houston). It was literally in my
back yard, so I couldn't refuse to set-up shop, right!? Anyway, there
were mostly 'lookers,' so didn't do a lot of selling, however, I did have
some REALLY nice pick-ups, which is equally important for such shows.
This was a little bit of both--selling and buying on my end. First, I
hated to part with, but had to....my minor league Derek Jeter autograph--so
long Jeter, can't wait see you in the HOF! The other was a VERY nice
Hakeem autographed Jersey....which I should have hung on to, but oh well,
it's business!!
Ok, now it's time for show and tell:
My two nice pick-up consisted of
(1) a nice, rare, die-cut , pink ribbon, Topps Platinum Marcus Lattimore!!
(sorry for the lousy picture, came from my phone)
and the other was a (2)
SWEEEEETTTT 2010 Triple Threads Stephen Strasburg ROOKIE
autograph Jersey, numbered to /9!!!!
There were some other great
pick-ups like a few JJ Watt autographs
, a George springer autograph.
Since it was a relatively smaller venue, there was not too much moving and
shaking going on; however, THIS weekend is the BIG Tri-Star show, so there
will be definitely more to report on.
Thanks for viewing and God Bless our soliders--both past and present!
